wundrgrrrlParticipantPlease open soon! I drive by every night on the way home and salivate at the thought of Pho in the beach’hood.

WSBKeymasterWe’ve done two stories.

White Center is our regular pho destination – closer than Alki, for us – but it’ll still be fun to go have soup at the beach!

CountingCoupMemberYes, beach drive needs a Pho’ house, especially now in our winter months :-)
January 16, 2010 at 7:00 pm #686595
PDieterParticipantI’m all for good Pho in WS, but I also believe the 88 Resturant in White Center is putting out as good a bowl of Pho as you can find in the city. Than Bros has fallen so far from their early years (when they just had one location) they no longer even count. It’s no longer a situation where you can just serve up a bowl of Pho without any finesse there are too many places that are doing it right to bother with someone phoning it in.
January 16, 2010 at 10:24 pm #686596
maplesyrupParticipantEverything I’ve had at 88 was really good but the best pho I’ve had in the area is at Pho 99.
I never liked much about Than Bros other than the slightly closer location to my house. Their broth is sweeter than I would prefer.

breanna43MemberAte at the Boat Cafe today for lunch. Tried the chicken Pho and it was the BEST I’ve had in WS. I have tried most white center places, and of course Than Bros. The broth at the Boat Cafe is far superior in flavor to any of the others in WS. Nice staff, nice view. Pho to die for. I won’t go anywhere else now!

JanSParticipantdidn’t realize it was open…glad to hear that :)
January 23, 2010 at 12:02 am #686599
WSBKeymasterJust heard that and we were calling to confirm before adding to main page. Thanks.
January 23, 2010 at 3:13 am #686600
WSBKeymasterThanks, Breanna – reporter Mary rushed over for the tale of opening day, as night fell:

including a pic of the pho …

angelescrestParticipantAlas, they were finished serving at 7:40, when I came to order “to go”.
The scent: superb; the decor: small and austere; the taste: awaiting us!
January 24, 2010 at 1:41 am #686602
JennieMemberDid anyone notice if they have vegetarian pho (with vegetable broth)?
April 26, 2010 at 6:41 pm #686603
newnativeParticipantThis place has reopened. I can’t wait to try it out!
April 26, 2010 at 9:01 pm #686604
alki_2008ParticipantThey’ve been re-opened for just over a week.

funnygirl28MemberI was just driving down Delridge and I noticed that there’s a sign up in a space right next to Olympia Pizza (cross street is Findlay) that says a new healthy pho and Vietnamese restaurant is coming soon. Does anyone know more about when it will open? We can’t wait!!
April 27, 2010 at 7:00 pm #686606
WSBKeymasterSays April on the sign, though April’s almost over … We have gone by multiple times hoping to see somebody at the site so we could talk to them, no luck yet.
June 15, 2010 at 1:45 am #686607
Michelle1970MemberHas anyone tried this place yet?
June 15, 2010 at 4:22 am #686608
angelescrestParticipantWe’ve had it twice, and though we thought it was fresh and savory, I got that old MSG reaction that I haven’t had since I was kid. Ouch! We haven’t tried the sandwiches. It looked quite busy on the weekend.
June 15, 2010 at 8:27 pm #686609
pamMemberWe ate there a few weekends ago – enjoyed the Pho and the bbq pork sandwich was a taste explosion. We’ll be back.
