Here’s the problem, and the legality that the administration faces as the administration tries to give away money to these international climate change groups: it’s now prohibited by law. On March 17, 2016 – the U.N. officially recognized the so-called ‘State of Palestine.’ They said that the ‘ State of Palestine ’ is a full member of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.

According to a 1994 law, passed by the House, passed by the Senate ( both controlled by the Democrats at the time ), signed into law, the United States cannot give any money to ‘ an affiliated organization of United Nations ’ that grants the Palestinians membership as a state. It’s called the 1994 Foreign Relations Authorization Act. These climate change groups are clearly affiliated organizations of the U.N.

The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change – the organization that the Palestinian group, this so-called State of Palestine, just joined as a member state – says on its own website that it is ‘ institutionally linked ’ to the U.N. It also reports that the Green Climate Fund is one of it – it says – its ‘ constituted bodies, ’ so there’s a direct link.

The pipeline of money that the Obama administration is planning to send to these organizations must be shut off.

That’s what happened in 2011, when the Palestinian group joined the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization – commonly known as UNESCO. That triggered a similar 1990 law – and the United States has not given any money to UNESCO ever since.

Unfortunately, the rule of law no longer seems to apply to the communist despots of the Obama administration and United Nations. The Climate Change agenda is the ultimate weapon against free democracy.

Why is it so hard for people to see that climate change is a way these despotic governments want to control people and businesses even further? I think I will start a carbon offset company with a government grant. Slowly become a part of the EPA. I will get taken to court, get it to the Supreme Court. Argue that it is not a tax and the Supreme Court will change it for me and then every consumer will have to pay ME!!! Evil Laugh!!!

I would say “hate to burst your bubble” but I suspect your bubble is made of a heavy gauge latex that is unburstable and you are breathing fumes that are not too good for you. There are no communist despots in the oval office. The climate change agenda is about addressing the problem of overpopulation and subsequent depletion of resources. Fish stocks are dropping fast, the amount of oxygen in the ocean is dropping at an alarming rate, Greenland may soon be actually green once the ancient glaciers have melted off and we are facing rising water levels. But don’t let any of that bother you. Free enterprise is what made us great. A little lead in the pipes, arsenic in the soil never hurt anyone. Cough cough

I’m confused … I thought Obama was a fascist socialist Muslim. I wasn’t aware that communist despots (I’m guessing Fidel Castro and that North Korean dude) were so interested in climate change and carbon footprints. I wonder if Stalin went on record regarding global warming; I’m thinking he might have been concerned about the gulags in Siberia turning into sunny beach resorts.

“The UNFCCC is a treaty, and the Palestinians’ purported accession to it does not involve their becoming members of any UN specialized agency or, indeed any international organization,” Julia Frifield, the State Department’s assistant secretary of legislative affairs, said in a letter to Sen. John Barrasso. (from Politico)

JTB…do you really think that real facts mean anything to people any more? I can guarantee that there are at least 3 people on this thread voting Trump(or some very obscure person, or maybe not even voting) this coming November…

JanS, you must be referring to Larry, Moe and Curly who seem to have finally worked out a seemless act in this thread that is more entertaining than their solo endeavors. ;-)

Alright, finally a discussion. Of course the holier than thou attitude still reigns but what the heck.
