I can only roll my eyes, shake my head, say we’re not interested and close the door after I point to the “No Solicitors” sign over the doorbell and you continue say “But I’m not selling anything…”

Then why in the WORLD would you knock on my door in the first place? Are my car lights on? Is my garage door open? Are you looking for a friend?

No, No, and No Thank You!

    Sigh.

MargL – How frustrating! I feel for you.

The fastest way to insure that I WILL not use your business is to have people come to my door! Having a “No Solicitors” sign makes it even worse.

Unfortunately it somehow works for door to door sales; or I presume it would not be continued. Businesses usually do what will bring them bucks. I was disappointed to see two houses in my neighborhood add yard signs from these door to door security companies. I thought they were smarter than that!

I have a no solicitors sign but need to update it to something along the lines of what Jan shared. But I guess people wont / can’t / don’t read (signs) these days?

They came to my door as well.

I had put up two “no solicitor” signs, one in the front of the fence, the other beside the front door.

They continued to knock, and when I opened up the door, I showed them the sign.

They had a similiar response “We’re not selling anything”.

I replied a 3rd time, “I’m not interested” and asked them to leave nicely, until one of the men said ” I hope your house is safe then”

I said, besides the camera watching you (was a lie) and my dog, I feel very safe”.

I said, you threaten me one more time I’ll call the police, his response was “Fine, call them”.

At this point I did everything I could do to resist not picking him up and throwing him into the asphalt.

His friend said, “let’s go” and the one boy kept looking at me the whole time they walked away.

And to think they are tyring to sell security?

They are extremely aggressive in there approach.

    Be careful.

Yeah – it was a bit annoying the way the “not-sales” guy kept studying my house as he was walking away like he was casing the place instead of making a note saying “Does not care for solicitors.”

Jan – I love the sign I’m printing it out and putting it in the window :-)
