Global climate models represent the planet as millions of grid boxes and then solve mathematical equations to calculate how energy is transferred between those boxes using the laws of thermodynamics. If done correctly, these models of how energy is cycled through all parts of the planet can be used to estimate dozens of environmental variables ( winds, temperature, moisture, etc. ). The models are tested by simulating historical conditions and then matching the results to our historical observational records. If the models can adequately recreate the past, they are then run forward in time to predict what may happen in the future.

As I understand it, the CMIP5 models were constructed and run somewhere around 2008-2010. If so, it seems that a vertical line should be drawn on the various charts on that year to indicate that everything to the left is hindcasting and only to the right is forecasting. Otherwise these charts seem to imply the models have decades of accuracy rather than decades of modification to fit known data.

Global warming is due to research university professors, students, and scientists that don’t get enough funding and then they yell like holy hell has broken out thus creating more carbon dioxide which is what they would have you believe is evil. Then they get in their Prius, which took coal generated power and go to the local bar, consume mass quantities of hops filled beer which then causes and up tick on the commodities market for hops which means more water is pumped into the field causing more water vapor which increases in the atmosphere, along with their voluminous burps from the beer they consumed. Then since they are drunk they forget their veggie killing diet and consume tenderloin from our bovine friends which also forces more movement in the stockyards and the herds are increased which causes more expulsion of bovine gas which in their opinion causes more green house gases. Lesson to the story? Drunk college students and professors are bad for the environment.

HMC Rich – when there is a relatively popular conservative radio host (Alex Jones) who seriously propounds the conspiracy theory that Michelle Obama is transgender and that she killed Joan Rivers because JR guessed her secret, it’s kinda hard to tell what’s satire and what isn’t. Next time, pretend to be a liberal who thinks GCC is being sped up by humanity’s reckless behavior and we’ll *know* you’ve got your tongue firmly planted in your cheek.
