The HOA/Community Accountant’s responsibilities include overseeing general accounting functions for a portfolio of condominium associations, including preparation of financial statements, bank reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, payroll, assistance with budgets, capital, and internal & external audits. The candidate will provide support in other areas as needed: Capital Project Accounting, Balance Sheet Reconciliations, Month End Functions, Analysis/Research, and Special Projects.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
3+ years of previous general ledger accounting and financial reporting experience is required, preferably in the property management industry.
Experience with community association accounting -VMS or Yardi preferred
Month-end cycle, journal entry preparation/posting, balance sheet reconciliation
Excellent verbal/written communication and computer skills
Ability to present information to, respond to questions from, and communicate professionally and effectively with managers, vendors, and customers
Intermediate to advanced skills with Quick Books Pro, Google Email, and MS Excel
Comfortably participate in electronic meetingsPosition Responsibilities
Process vendor payments: ACH, registers, and general ledger reports
Generate and review monthly financial statements
Pay vendors and suppliers within the established time limits
Biweekly staff payroll
Manage daily correspondence from homeowners/vendors/staff
Provide financial information to title companies, banks, owner services, and owners as needed
Answer and respond promptly to inquiries from vendors, homeowners, and staff
Reconcile monthly bank statements
Prepare monthly management fee invoicesJob Type: Full-time
Salary: $65,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
