8:31 PM: Avoid 35th/Morgan for a while – three of the four sides of the intersection are reported blocked because of a 2-car crash. Dispatch told officers that witnesses who called it in said one vehicle was speeding and hit the other. No serious injuries are reported, but they’ll have to tow the vehicles and clean up a reported fluid spill before the intersection can reopen.
8:57 PM: Police just told dispatch that 35th/Morgan has reopened.
1:06 PM: SFD and SPD are headed for a crash reported toward the east end of the Roxbury corridor, on the Olson Place hill, just west of Arrowhead Gardens [map]. Avoid the area for a while.
1:08 PM: First arriving crews report it’s a two-vehicle crash, including “a truck on its side.”
1:27 PM: Thanks to Collin for the photo. No word so far on injuries, but no medic unit’s been sent, which suggests no major injuries – we’ll be following up with SFD.
2:20 PM: SFD has closed the call but Collin tells us the scene hasn’t cleared yet – next step is towing.
2:29 PM: Clear now!
ADDED WEDNESDAY EVENING: SFD says two people were hurt – a 47-year-old woman who was taken to a hospital by private ambulance, and a 62-year-old woman treated at the scene.

4:16 PM: Avoid Fauntleroy Way just south of Fairmount Playfield for a while – a two-car crash at Fauntleroy/Findlay [map] has blocked northbound Fauntleroy, and police are detouring traffic. No major injuries, but SFD was called in to check out one person with pain from airbag deployment.

3:21 PM: SDOT has just sent an alert that the low bridge is closed to surface traffic right now because of “technical issues.”
3:45 PM: Live SDOT camera shows the gates have gone up and the low bridge is open again.
4:08 PM: Open to street/path traffic, but not to marine traffic, SDOT’s Mariam Ali tells us: “While the bridge is currently open for vehicular traffic, it remains closed to maritime traffic. Our team is actively working to restore access for maritime traffic as soon as possible.” We asked what’s wrong this time. “The ongoing challenge is related to the tail lock, which is not receiving electricity from the pump motor. Our team is diligently diagnosing and assessing the tail lock and motor to address the issue promptly.”

4:55 PM: As shown on that screengrab from an SDOT traffic camera, crews dealing with a downed wire have outside lanes blocked on southbound West Marginal and westbound (uphill) Highland Park Way right now. Avoid the intersection if you can.
5:35 PM: Metro says, via an alert, that it’s rerouting southbound Route 131 because of this.
11:59 PM: Since our last check, the camera shows, the crew has cleared and the lanes are all open again.
9:20 AM: WSF says #2 vessel Cathlamet is currently “delayed” at Vashon for “unscheduled maintenance.”

11:45 PM: A 39-year-old man is being taken to Harborview Medical Center after crashing his vehicle into a pillar beneath the West Seattle low bridge. It happened on the south end of Harbor Island, at Spokane/Klickitat, less than an hour ago. Firefighters had to cut him out of his vehicle. The crash was described over emergency radio as “high-speed.”
ADDED 9:31 AM WEDNESDAY: SFD tells us the driver was in serious condition when transported.

6:29 PM: A two-car crash – one vehicle on its side – has 35th SW closed right now near SW Thistle. Avoid the area.
6:41 PM: Our crew was told at the scene that no one is seriously hurt.
8:01 PM: As noted in comments, 35th has since reopened; we just got a chance to go back to check.
8:42 PM: As also noted in comments, police say this was a hit-run, with one driver bolting the scene. Archived audio indicates officers found the 34-year-old man quickly, barely a block away, and told dispatch he was the driver of the on-its-side Range Rover.

11:36 PM: Police are blocking all lanes of the eastbound West Seattle Bridge except the exit lane to northbound 99, because of what so far appears to be a one-vehicle crash, with the driver apparently having walked away from the scene – possibly westbound in the eastbound lanes.
12:07 AM: Officers just told dispatch that all lanes on the bridge have reopened. The mystery of the driver hasn’t been solved yet; officers went to the South Seattle residence of the vehicle’s registered owner but reported back that no one answered the door. (Added: The vehicle is a Hyundai Sonata.)

*Protest – Students plan another demonstration outside Chief Sealth International High School, this time at 2 pm. We don’t know if they plan to again march to Southwest Pool/Teen Life Center but you might consider avoiding SW Thistle between 35th SW and Delridge Way at mid-afternoon.
*Tunnel closure – The Highway 99 tunnel will close both ways from 10 pm tonight until 6 am Saturday. It’s a maintenance closure, says WSDOT, with planned work including cleaning cameras, HVAC maintenance, and vegetation removal.
