West Seattle, Washington
01 Wednesday
Since the weekend won’t be over for many till Monday night, this edition of the West Seattle Weekend Lineup covers four days – with events including the opening of new Junction restaurant Fresh Bistro tonight, several big events on Saturday including opening day for Colman Pool, the first-ever West Seattle Edible Garden Fair and the Alki Community Wildlife Habitat Certification Celebration on Saturday (plus a bike-trail cleanup and a car show), special events (including wagon rides!) at the West Seattle Farmers’ Market on Sunday, and the traditional West Seattle community Memorial Day Service at Forest Lawn on Monday afternoon … more than 40 events in the full West Seattle Weekend Lineup, brought to you by Skylark Cafe and Club:Read More
On video, that’s helga hizer and Matthew Ellis of Mess Kit performing at West Seattle Nursery a short time ago – during the first-ever beer/art/gardening event that’s teaming WSN with Twilight Artist Collective and Prost West Seattle. $2 beer:
$1 pretzels:
Art – priceless. Well, not really. Prices vary.
West Seattle Nursery is at California/Brandon (map). Part of the sale proceeds during today’s event will go to West Seattle Helpline.
It’s not on the Camp Long website yet, and it’s not available in print till sometime next week, but you can see the summer brochure for Camp Long (and other Seattle Parks Environmental Learning Centers) right now — Sheila Brown from Camp Long sent it via e-mail today and we’ve uploaded it here.
Five of the six candidates for Miss West Seattle Hi-Yu Festival (meet all six here) posed for us on Seacrest Pier this morning as the West Seattle Sportsmen’s Club Kids’ Fishing Derby was in its final moments, just yards away. Once again this year, brilliant sunshine for WSSC members to host a temporary fishing pond at the pier for kids 12 and under – we caught two catches on video:
The next scheduled Hi-Yu event is the American Legion Candidates’ Reception on June 11th; the Hi-Yu float, meantime, fresh off its award-winning Sequim appearance last weekend (WSB coverage here), was scheduled to be up north again today, at the Rhododendron Festival Parade in Port Townsend.
That’s a photo from last year’s West Seattle Sportsmen’s Club Hi-Yu Kids’ Fishing Derby; this year’s edition happens this morning at Seacrest, 8 am-11 am. Kids through age 12 are welcome – it’s free – and you get to keep your catch. Or — perhaps you and your family are in the market for a pet?
That’s Riley, a “senior dog” who needs a new home. Animals First Foundation is scheduled to bring Riley to the Furry Faces Foundation plant sale today (raising money for animal rescue), 10 am-4 pm (tomorrow too) along with info about other pets AFF has available (more into cats? they’ll be at the plant sale tomorrow). Lots of info about the sale and the pets can be found here (and the book-signing!). That’s one of THREE big plant sales today, by the way, along with the sale at Sound Yoga (WSB sponsor) to benefit the American Cancer Society and the sale at Tibbetts United Methodist Church. Not interested in plants, pets, or fishing? LOTS more happening – including state legislators’ Town Hall in White Center (which has a big community cleanup today too) at 10 am, The Kenney‘s big brunch fundraiser at 11 am, and many entertainment options … click here to go directly to the Saturday section of the West Seattle Weekend Lineup.
Three big plant sales this weekend – Furry Faces Foundation (with a book-signing!), Sound Yoga (WSB sponsor), Tibbetts Church … plus, “A Night of Swing” tonight with the West Seattle Big Band at Grace Church, a busy Saturday slate including the West Seattle Sportsmen’s Club Kids’ Fishing Derby at Seacrest … Sunday brings the Walk With Us to Cure Lupus 5K on Alki plus the beer/gardening art event at West Seattle Nursery on Sunday … more than 40 events in the full West Seattle Weekend Lineup, brought to you by Skylark Cafe and Club:Read More
(2008 Junction Car Show photo courtesy Mark B. Bauschke)
Just got an update from Liberty Bell Printing‘s Michael Hoffman, who’s coordinating the September 20th event: “The car show is an official go. We have had a great response from sponsors and are excited to continue planning the event.” WSB is proud to be among the West Seattle Junction Car Show sponsors again this year; there’s still room for more sponsors – the application can be downloaded here. That page, by the way, is part of the official West Seattle Junction Car Show website, now up and running at wsjunctioncarshow.com. Michael also lists a few of the highlights planned for the show this year:
Antique fire trucks from the Last Resort Fire Department.
SFD teaching Fire safety for kids.
The Oh Boy! Oberto hydroplane on display.
A DJ playing 50s & 60s Music.
Event T-shirts at a great value.
More room for more cars and fun
That last line refers to the fact they’ve gotten permission to close the Alaska/California intersection, as is done during the West Seattle American Legion Grand Parade (July 18 this year!) – not just two self-contained blocks like last year. The show will run from 8 am till 4 pm on September 20th.
With the first-ever Seattle International Film Festival showings in West Seattle now less than a month away, WSB is co-promoting an Admiral Theater event to celebrate this major moment in WS cultural history: An opening-night party on June 5. The party is just taking shape – it will be fun but informal, probably something of an open-house format that night, before the 7 pm showing of the ever-so-appropriate choice “The Admiral.” On behalf of Admiral entertainment director Dinah Brein-McClellan, we’re asking you: Got any ideas for who or what should be part of that party (an all-ages, drop-in event)? If you’re a local business or organization, maybe you’d like to be part of it? Leave a comment here or e-mail
Dinah, dinah@admiralentertainment.com – and stay tuned for party details. In the meantime, a reminder that tickets for the 25 SIFF movies to be shown at The Admiral June 5-11 are on sale now – ticket sales are all done through SIFF, *not* the Admiral, so you’ll want to snap them up sooner rather than later. The movie slate is here; ticket sales start here; details on special multi-show ticket deals are here.
Since Furry Faces Foundation‘s big plant sale this weekend is all about raising money to help animals, a bonus event on Saturday fits right in: West Seattle author Val Mallinson will be signing and selling copies of her books “The Dog Lover’s Guide to the Pacific Northwest” and “The Dog Lover’s Guide to Seattle” for the first four hours of the first sale day, donating $1 from each book sale to F3. As F3’s announcement puts it, “Together with her faithful companions Cooper and Isis—also known as “The Wonder Wieners”—Val reveals the best dog-friendly romps, digs, and eats in the Pacific Northwest in these two new guidebooks.” She’ll be there 10 am-2 pm tomorrow (Saturday); the plant sale is 10 am-4 pm Saturday and Sunday; the location both days is 3809 46th Ave SW (map). And did we mention the plant sale also will offer pet-adoption opportunties? in addition to the “1,200+ healthy, nursery quality plants at reasonable prices, beautifully suited for Pacific NW gardens” – even more details here.
Another excuse to think “sunny … warm …” in the middle of today’s drippy chilliness: The virtual suggestion box is now open for the West Seattle Junction Outdoor Movies on the Wall series, which draws hundreds of people to the courtyard (seen above in a photo from last summer) between Dr. Wolff and Hotwire Coffee (WSB sponsor) for six summertime Saturday nights. As announced by Hotwire’s Lora Lewis, this year’s dates are:
Saturday, July 18th
Saturday, July 25th
Saturday, August 1st
Saturday, August 8th
Saturday, August 15th
Saturday, August 22nd
The movies should be family-friendly, though that doesn’t necessarily mean they have to be G-rated. Send your suggestion(s) to westseattlemovies@gmail.com. (If you don’t want your e-mail address attached to a suggestion, alternatives also include leaving a comment at the official website, westseattlemovies.blogspot.com – or even send a tweet to @wsmovies – or leave a comment here.) Lora’s also looking for series sponsors for the bargain-basement rate of $150; interested businesses can e-mail her at lora@hotwirecoffee.com.
Want to avoid a rerun of last year or the year before? Here’s last year’s list; here’s the 2007 list. So – what do you want to see On The Wall this summer? (By the way, no rainouts this year – if rain happens, the movie will move indoors to nearby West Seattle Christian Church‘s events center, where the winter movie series was held.)
Just received that invite to share, on behalf of Cooper Elementary, whose program is closing at the end of this school year, after the School Board voted to move Pathfinder K-8 into the building so its longtime “temporary” location on Genesee Hill could be shuttered. Cooper students are going to several schools, including Gatewood Elementary, which is reaching out in this invite (which also applies to the entire community) to a festival coming up later this month:
I’d just like to share with the W. Seattle Community that Gatewood Elementary is holding their annual Family Fun Fair, Saturday May 30th from 12-3pm.
Address: 4320 SW Myrtle ST. Most events in parking lot off of California Ave SW & SW Frontenac ST.
Inflatables, Carnival Games with prizes, Food, Pie Toss and Cake Walk (supports 4th & 5th Grade end of year camp to Warm Springs) Above events had a nominal charge. Free activities include: Bubbles, Face Painting and Sidewalk Art.
Please join us for this wonderful community event. We would like to especially extend an invitation to the Cooper Families that will be joining us next school year. Come and check out what a fabulous place Gatewood Elementary is!!
Last time the Admiral Neighborhood Association met, we brought you first word of plans for a summer outdoor-concert series at Hiawatha Community Center. Tonight, as ANA gathered for its monthly meeting at Admiral Church, concert series organizer Katy Walum provided updates – read on for what’s in the works, dates and times, and how you can help:Read More
One more reminder – today’s the day: Not only is this a rare chance to help design a playground (backstory here) – it’s a rare opportunity for children to be part of the process as well as grownups. 4 pm today marks the start of an all-ages afternoon and evening – with free dinner! — helping shape the new playground that Delridge Community Center will get this summer, thanks in no small part to KaBoom, which helps local communities get new playgrounds that — with volunteer help and community support – are built in a day. The design discussions start at 4 pm with a “kids’ meeting” for their ideas on what they want to see; 5 pm, spaghetti dinner; 5:30 pm, adults’ meeting (with child care provided!). North Delridge Neighborhood Council co-vice-chair Betsy Hoffmeister is hoping for a big turnout – the bigger the turnout, the more support for the new playground, and the more ideas for what it’ll be like, the merrier! Just show up at the community center and jump in.
That’s the scene from last July, on the day the Seafair Pirates invaded Alki. Exactly two months from today, they’re scheduled to return, in the first big event of the Seafair season – the Pirates’ Landing is set for July 11. And exactly two days from now, Seafair is offering a one-day-only discount-advance-ticket deal for two of its highest-profile admission-required events: This Wednesday, May 13, 9 am to 9 pm only, Seafair is selling hydroplane race/air show tickets for $6 and Torchlight Run entries for $6. (The price is in honor of Seafair celebrating its 60th anniversary this year.) You have to make the purchase online, that day and those hours ONLY – through either seafair.com, or (hydro/airshow only) ticketmaster.com/(Torchlight Run only) active.com. (The Seafair Pirates’ Landing, we should note, is free – just be sure to arrive early for a prime spot on the beach.)
Last month, we took that photo at Hillcrest Presbyterian as West Seattle Helpline volunteers helped executive director Anna Fern (right) prepared for the first visits to the relaunched Clothesline clothing bank (WSB preview here). Clothesline is just one way that Helpline offers a hand to local families who need help – NOW – and this week, you get a chance to in turn help Helpline, NOW, while having a good time: The annual Taste of West Seattle fundraiser is Thursday night, at The Hall at Fauntleroy, 6:30-9 pm, with myriad West Seattle restaurants participating — some offering more than one “taste”! Contact Helpline for tickets – all the info’s online. Two weeks later, quite the fundraising bash in the works as the Kiwanis Club of West Seattle celebrates its 80th anniversary – just yesterday, we caught up with the Kiwanis at their West Seattle Community Garage Sale Day event:
While there, we got a poster for their May 31st “Roaring Twenties to the Twenty-First Century” event at South Seattle Community College, with proceeds benefiting community projects including scholarships, and Kiwanian Warren Lawless e-mailed today to be sure we’d heard about it:
Come celebrate the Kiwanis Club of West Seattle’s 80 years of service to our Community!
Sunday, May 31 2009
5 PM – Social Hour . 6 PM Dinner
Brockey Center at SSCCFor tickets contact us at kiwaniswestseattle.org or 206 330-6843
Proceeds benefit the Kiwanis Scholarship Fund for SSCC students and the children of West Seattle through the club’s 21st Century Fund (a 501.c.3 entity)
Thanks to WSBers’ wonderful photography, we have shown you great Alki-area wildlife photos like that one that Gary J shared recently – but there’s an unseen, vital part of those pictures: If there’s no habitat for the birds (and many other species), wildlife won’t be around to see. So we wanted to remind you about an upcoming event that’s been on the WSB Events calendar a long time but is finally now less than two weeks away: The May 23rd celebration of Alki as the Seattle metro area’s first National Wildlife Federation Community Wildlife Habitat. Here’s the latest on what’s planned for the big event:
The National Wildlife Federation (NWF) officially recognizes Alki as an NWF Community Wildlife Habitat on Saturday, May 23, 2009 at the Alki Bathhouse.
The celebration is free and runs from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Bring the kids. There will be activities for all ages and light refreshments. Bluegrass duo Squirrel Butter will perform from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Local dignitaries, including City Councilmember Tom Rasmussen, will participate in the 1 p.m. ceremony.
Alki invites all Seattle communities to join the national trend to counter habitat loss. “Once habitat is lost, it is gone forever,” said Nancy Whitlock, Executive Director and Founder of Nature Consortium.
Learn what you can do to create your own, and encourage neighbors to do the same –ultimately expanding wildlife corridors. The NWF will talk about the elements required for wildlife protection. All flying and crawling friends seek, food, water, shelter and nesting places while using sustainable gardening practices like composting, mulching, selecting drought tolerant plants, avoiding pesticides, fertilizers and over watering. Healthier air, water and soil without high maintenance are the result.
A beach naturalist from The Seattle Aquarium will teach us how to better respect Puget Sound and our waterways. You’ll learn what to plant from the Washington Native Plant Society. To make it easy, native plants will be on sale.
Alki is the first in the Seattle metropolitan area to become a Community Wildlife Habitat, the fifth in Washington State, and 31st in the country. “We’re so lucky to have wild places within our city,” said Sean Schmidt, Director of New Initiatives and Acting Executive Director of Sustainable Seattle. Gene Duvernoy, Executive Director of the Cascade Land Conservancy, added this “certification is well deserved. The Alki community is showing us all how we can live side-by-side with nature.” More than 125 Alki businesses, schools, parks and private homes made healthy habitats a priority.
The Alki Wildlife Habitat Project took root in January 2003 as a shared vision of the Alki Community Council. They formed the Alki Wildlife Habitat Project, sponsored an open house at the Bathhouse and rallied the neighbors to seek certification as an NWF Community Wildlife Habitat.
Six years later, linking one yard at a time as well as creating a demonstration garden, the collective efforts paid off. Alki now has “less lawn, more berries… birds, bees and butterflies, “said Chairperson Dolly Vinal. Shawn Cantrell, Executive Director of the Seattle Audubon Society, said, “Global warming, polar bears clinging to ice floes, habitat loss to encroaching development and other environmental woes create a picture of doom. It’s easy to feel helpless. But individuals make a difference as one property at a time is dedicated to nurturing and protecting our wildlife.”
The Alki Community Council and The Boeing Company co-sponsor the awards celebration.
First – looks like the weather will be nice for much of the day.
West Seattle Farmers’ Market? Here’s the fresh sheet; there also are a few special features today – a cooking demonstration featuring mushrooms, courtesy of Foraged and Found, plus soon-to-open Fresh Bistro mentioned via Twitter that they’re offering samples of “market fresh asparagus and lemon thyme soup.” (Asparagus photo at left by Christopher Boffoli)
Third – brunch! And beyond. We published a few notes last Thursday, “from Skillet to Skylark” — including an 11 am early opening today for WSB sponsor Cafe Revo. Also turns out that Skylark Club and Cafe (WSB sponsor) not only has the benefit brunch going on today, 9-3, but also karaoke starting at 7 – with an “auction” – bid on getting a participant to sing a certain song, and then they either can sing “your” song or bid higher and sing “whatever they want”!
Meantime, back to brunch, we also happened onto Circa talking Mom’s Day on FB and invited them to send a note for here – Nicole e-mailed us, “We’re usually not too busy on Mother’s Day, so come on down for a fresh, delicious brunch that won’t break the bank. Remember, though, parties larger than four can be in for a bit of a wait.” And Easy Street Records’ Cafe sent word of a Mother’s Day deal — read about it here.
And a non-food Mother’s Day note: Avalon Glassworks is offering a chance to “design your own float” today – read more about that here.

Forecast for tomorrow: Mostly sunny! So — got your map yet for the 5th annual West Seattle Community Garage Sale Day tomorrow, sales 9 am-3 pm all over the peninsula? No worries, here’s how. If you have an early copy of the preprinted map (say, from picking it up at our table at last Sunday’s Sustainable West Seattle Festival), a couple notes – #179 has had to cancel at the last minute; on the first map page, north of SW Brandon, be sure to check out a few sales in the far west and a few in the far east whose number markers may have been cut off on some early versions of the printed copy (the “ad” listings are complete in all versions, however), including #56 in Pigeon Point, #36 and #37 along Beach Drive, #74 (Southwest Youth and Family Services!) and #75 in North Delridge. SWYFS just sent out an e-mail blast and it looks like they’re having a raffle too!
SWYFS IS A PARTICIPANT IN THE WEST SEATTLE GARAGE SALE! SATURDAY, MAY 9
COME ONE, COME ALL — 4555 Delridge WAY SW
COME BUY A RAFFLE TICKET TOO TO WIN A 40′ HD FLATSCREEN TV BY SAMSUNG!
Or if you want to start fresh with your WSCGSD map, just print the updated copy here (8-page PDF here). If you want to browse around online and look more closely at your neighborhood and what’s happening, check out the clickable Google Map here. Reminder, besides the short “ad” listings on the map (and if you click a number on the Google Map version, it’ll bring up a “balloon” with that sale’s ad text), we’re also offering sellers the chance to post in the WSB Forums‘ Freebies, Deals, Sales section (where you are welcome to post a yard sale ANY time, free, as the season goes on) with as much info as they want to say about their sales – so far, here’s what we have:
Click! Design That Fits‘ (WSB sponsor) Forum post about the sale
Amigos de las Americas, Seattle Chapter, Forum post about fundraising WSCGSD sale
This sale in Arbor Heights has set up its own website – wsyardsale.com
Here’s another sale description in the Forums – including cribs!
This one detailed in the Forums has plus-size clothes and computer paraphernalia
Read the map closely, online or in print – some spots are having bake sales and free refreshments too!
Then there’s the big Hotwire/Ginomai group sale spot in The Junction (details here along with block-sale addresses); C&P Coffee has multiple participants in its courtyard too; and Alki Lodge #152 even took out a separate WSB ad to shine the spotlight on its 7 am-4 pm fundraiser sale.
Another shoutout coming up later for the schools and businesses that are participating too – and we’ll pitch again, send us a photo tomorrow – we’ll be running around taking pix but won’t make it to all 183 – and to enter the contests (most creative sign and most unusual item bought/sold), send us pix, info on which sale they’re from, your name/contact info – garagesale@wsb.blackfin.biz – We’ll be posting “live” at westseattlegaragesale.com from morning till post-sale; and if you write about the sale afterward on your personal website and wouldn’t mind being linked here, send us that link too. During the event, we’ll also send little bulletins via Twitter – if you’re out and about shopping, you can subscribe to Twitter via your mobile phone (we’ll do this via @westseattleblog).
Actually the bells have nothing to do with tomorrow’s WSB-sponsored West Seattle Community Garage Sale Day (9 am-3 pm, get your map here!), but Bells of the Sound performs in West Seattle tonight, and with West Seattleites in their rank, we thought you’d like to see what they’re all about (this clip’s on the wild side) – 7:30 tonight at Tibbetts Church in The Junction. Meantime, tomorrow’s also the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive (PLEASE put a bag out before you go garage-saling – it’ll be picked up right at your mailbox/door!) and the Gateway cleanup followup – MUCH more going on, totaling more than 40 events in the full West Seattle Weekend Lineup, brought to you by Skylark Cafe and Club:Read More
We first told you two months ago about the impending West Seattle Edible Garden Fair (WSB story here), with subsequent mentions and reminders along the way as the food-gardening movement continues to grow in West Seattle … now, with two weeks till the May 23 event, Community Harvest of Southwest Seattle is looking for additional volunteer help. The Edible Garden Fair is 9:30 am-4 pm May 23 at South Seattle Community College, tackling topics such as: Growing Gourmet Vegetables, Building Safe and Healthy Soils, Gardening in Small Spaces, Cooking with Northwest Greens, and a Panel on Victory Gardens, Then and Now (full list of presentations here). The soon-to-open West Seattle restaurant Fresh Bistro (in the Mural Apartments [WSB sponsor] building) will provide food samples, and you’ll even get the chance to recycle used garden books and tools. If you can volunteer some time to help with the fair, e-mail Aviva: aviva@duwamish.net
Day after tomorrow, prepare for the peninsula to be swarmed by shoppers. 9 am to 3 pm this Saturday is the fabulous fifth annual West Seattle Community Garage Sale Day. Among the more than 180 sales you’ll find, from Alki Beach almost all the way to Seola Beach, are these alley/block sales (listed here with their official numbers on the map – which you can print from this downloadable 8-page PDF, or view in clickable Google Map format (NOT suitable for printing), where you can click on any number on the map – the order is roughly north to south, west to east – to see more about that sale):

And if you haven’t received your info/placard packet yet, check tomorrow’s mail – if it doesn’t arrive then, call us and we’ll deliver your placard ourselves. Sellers are invited to enter both the “most unusual item” and “most creative sign” contest; shoppers can enter the “most unusual item” contest too – we have restaurant gift certificates for the winners in both. Stay tuned for more here and at westseattlegaragesale.com tonight and tomorrow, plus continuous coverage on sale day (we’ll be running around to take pictures but you’re invited to send us a photo of your sale too, even before 9 am as you set up – editor@wsb.blackfin.biz).
West Seattle Community Garage Sale Day, presented by WSB, is just three days away. So far (knock wood!) the forecast looks promising (last year we had some morning sprinkles but things improved fast). IMPORTANT NOTE: If you have an early copy of the map – it was called to our attention early today that the first map page, northern half of the peninsula, cut off a few number markers to the far west and the far east. The sales were all described in the listings, but the number markets couldn’t be seen on the first printed version of the map. So we have fixed it – DOWNLOAD THIS ONE (8-page PDF). The fixes only involves the second page of the map. No changes in the clickable (but not very printable unless you decide to make a customized version) Google Map (see it here), since the number markers have all been there all along. Meantime, we have more information to share about the biggest group sale site, the Hotwire Coffee (WSB sponsor)/Ginomai courtyard, from Hotwire’s Lora Lewis:
We will have stage costumes (ArtsWest) to hand blown glass to locally made tie dye. The Hotwire & Ginomai sales will have lots of fun items for sale:
2 racks of costumes and clothing and some arts and crafts supplies as well as some left over party supplies
Books galore
Arts & crafts supplies
Huge selection of jewelry
Unique yard stuff
Wall accent mirrors
2 brand new IKEA Lersta Floor Reading Lamps
Tie dyes made right here in West SeattleA variety of leather items rescued, repaired and revamped (bags and coats and purses) a variety of new laptop bags, camera bags and messenger bags.
Vintage fancy lady purses
Handmade leather journals
1000+ cds with a wide spectrum of musicLots of garage sale-y items too! We will also be taking donations starting at 8am the day of the garage sale for Furry Faces Foundation, a non-profit animal rescue group here in West Seattle. Just bring your donated items to the Furry Faces space right next to Hotwire. You will receive a charitable donation slip and a coupon for a free latte or Americano.
We will also have hot dogs for sale (veggie too) with all the hotdog’ish condiments. All proceeds go to the Africa trip group at WSCC.
More seller info to come – we know everyone’s working hard to get ready – a couple of the mailing lists we monitor are for groups that are participating, even the Lincoln Park P-Patch! If you are a seller, with any size sale, your info packet from us will probably screech into the mailbox right at the wire tomorrow or Friday – if you don’t get it Friday, call us (206-293-6302) and we’ll personally drop off your “official participant” sign card, even if we have to drive around all night! And if there’s any extra info you want to post about YOUR individual sale, we invite you – yes, all 183 participants if you want – to post it in the WSB Forums‘ Freebies, Deals, Sales section – just make sure your subject line includes WSCGSD and your sale address – anything that turns up there, we’ll crosslink to westseattlegaragesale.com too.
Just four days till the big shopping/selling day this Saturday! We handed out the first 200 copies of the map/listings for Saturday’s West Seattle Community Garage Sale Day at the Sustainable West Seattle Festival on Sunday – but now, even if you didn’t get a copy today, you can get yours: Here’s the printable version, an 8-page PDF, with — same as last year — the map and listings split into 3 sections. Improved from last year, we’ve numbered the sales so you can cross-reference the map and listings. If you ‘d like to see the sales in Google Map format online, you’ll find the G-map version here – it’s not printable, but if you know how to tweak G-maps, you can use this to customize your own itinerary for Saturday, among other possibilities. Meantime, if you or someone you know is printer-less but needs a copy, this morning we will be distributing hundreds more copies to these pickup spots (the first five are WSB sponsors):
Hotwire Coffee
Fauntleroy and West Seattle YMCA
Illusions Hair Design
Stor-More Self-Storage
Brunette Mix
Senior Center of West Seattle
Delridge and WS (Junction) Neighborhood Service Centers
Southwest Community Center
