FOLLOWUP: Don Armeni Boat Ramp dock-replacement project, one month in

Thanks to Doug Eglington for sending the photo. Piling placement work continues at West Seattle’s Don Armeni Boat Ramp, one month after the start of the long-in-the-works dock-replacement project. American Construction is the contractor for the work to install new concrete floats and steel pilings, which is expected to continue until mid-March, with one float kept open at all times so the ramp remains usable.

They are currently removing the last pieces of the north float so don’t see how anyone is able to launch or retrieve until whatever comes next. It’s also surprising to see the huge pile of wood which they have dredged up from around the former north floats.

Somebody sent a photo of that. Not sure what it is, though – shredded driftwood? something somebody dumped? debris from old docks?

It’s not looking good! Just drove by to see if they’d left one of the ramps open and nada

Just have to put the docks in place and replace one more of the ramps. This was really needed. I remember those docks 30 years ago

Sorry, comment time is over.
