Several readers have mentioned it’s slow going on the westbound West Seattle Bridge, east of 99 – and this is why: One of those periodic backups of port-bound trucks. So if you’re headed this way from off-peninsula, you might consider an alternate route.

I was stopped dead on I-5 in the WS Bridge exit lane and decided to take the lower bridge. Drove on the shoulder and took the Spokane exit, still slow going, but at least it was moving.
East Marginal headed for Low Span west bound but had to double back to almost 1st Ave Bridge. The trucks stop right in the middle of the intersections blocking everything.
