This morning we saw a large # of what appear to be high schoolers standing by the water @don armeni boat ramp w/ one police vehicle with lights flashing. Does anyone know what’s happening??

Nothing major logged; no fire callout, so nothing involving injury, and police log for that time and that place shows only a “parking violation” call.

My random guess would be that seniors from West Seattle were gathering for a “senior sunrise” on the first day of their last year.

  • Anne September 14, 2022 (7:35 am)

WSHS seniors were having Senior Sunrise this morning –

WSHS had a senior sunrise event at Don Armeni this morning.

Granddaughter who was there-said police were there -asking teens to move their cars out of the boat launch parking spots. No trouble -all good.

  • Paul September 14, 2022 (7:57 am)

It was Senior Sunrise.  All of this years seniors gathered to watch sunrise, chat, and eat donuts. Apparently the donuts disappeared quickly.

Thank you! (To everyone who explained)

We were not in position to check on that but I have followup questions out. It does not appear the person had to be transported by SFD medic unit so likely not life-threatening injuries, but I don’t know anything yet about circumstances.

“Senior Sunrise” – as many other posters have noted.

And SHAME on whomever reported them. Can’t you get off your high horse for a second and let the kids have just an eeeeensy bit of fun??

Sorry, comment time is over.
