Police officer involved in 35th/Barton crash

Thanks to Ben for the tip. 35th and Barton is clear again after this crash involving two drivers, one an SPD officer. After the tip, we went over to check it out; a sergeant told us the officer hit the other driver, who was having trouble “trying to negotiate the intersection.” Nobody was hurt, and damage was minor – neither car needed to be towed. The scene cleared while we were there.

Looks like the cop rear ended him…

this is awesome… I was driving behind that CRV just before & was getting road rage from their inabilities to navigate… (aka they did not turn right on a red earlier and I was leaning on my horn for them to move) I turned off into the neighborhood just to get away from them…

I saw this when I was driving to Westwood Village last night. They were blocking both lanes southbound on 35th, to go straight you had to drive into the northbound lanes to go around them – pretty dangerous even at ~8pm. They were still there when I left Westwood Village. For just a fender bender, you’d think they would have pulled to the side so as to not block traffic for everyone.

No matter how you slice it, it looks like the cop is at fault. As for Danny Road Rage, maybe they were yielding the right of way as a safe driver and not prioritizing their personal desires over public safety. Let me guess, you were the jerk road raging at 35 mph through the neighborhood.20 is Plenty!

Yes I posted a similar comment but somehow failed to clear moderation.  The car in back is at fault ina rear end situation.  Trailing car must leave braking space and travel at a speed low enough to brake.  Cops in WS speed like crazy even without lights/sirens.  This is what happens

Sorry, comment time is over.
