About the emergency response on 44th SW

For those wondering about the initially sizable “scenes of violence” call at a house on 44th SW near Madison Middle School this past hour – as sometimes happens with emergency calls, that turned out to be a misclassification. Not hearing any info on the scanner, we went there to ask; a person at the house injured themselves accidentally, SFD told us, and has been taken to the hospital.

Did anyone mention the loud noises this morning near Alaska and Fauntleroy? It sounded like maybe fireworks (about 20 in very Quick succession) around 5am. Seemed like an odd time to do that since it was already light out.

I heard them also – odd. I’m by Delridge Playfield so could hear them from pretty far.

We heard it too, in Fairmount Park!

I thought I was going crazy because no one in my house heard it but me. Went to check the blog and nothing so I figured it was my imagination. Later my brother mentioned he heard it as well.

I also heard it and was just telling my husband it sounded like 8-10 gun shots to me! Anyone hear what it was?

I heard gun shots (or so I thought) as well. More than 10 by my count. It woke me up though so my report may be somewhat fuzzy. I did call it in to 911 whatever it was.

Any news on what those noises were? Fireworks? Gunshots? They woke me up from a deep sleep!! They were so loud and I can’t find anything about them.

I woke up right when they came off. It was fireworks right in my neighbor’s driveway, which is on the alley way in Fairmont. Saw the flare up still going but no one around. Same happened the night before on my intersection and saw the firemen clean it up.

Definitely sounded more tinny like gun shots to me.

Nobody texted us about it. No confirmed gunfire logged, no victims.

It was some low power firecracker type fireworks going off around 4:30 am below the junction, not gunshots

I heard the fireworks again about 10 minutes ago. They definitely sounded closer this morning than yesterday morning and I’m at the Fauntleroy and Alaska intersection. There were also only 6 pops this morning (two rounds of the three bangs in quick succession). Yesterday morning there were 20 or more like people said above.

Was woken up by the same sound again this morning around 4:30. This time I only heard It about 5 times but it was still there and still loud. Very strange.

Fireworks, according to a note we received about that.

Again at 4:32 AM on Monday.   This is getting old.   Not funny.  Grow up!
