TRAFFIC/TRANSIT TODAY: Wednesday watch

(SDOT MAP with travel times/ Is the ‘low bridge’ closed? LOOK HERE/ West Seattle-relevant traffic cams HERE)

7:15 AM: Good morning! No alerts or incidents in our area, so far.

ROADSIDE WORK: In at least two parts of West Seattle (we saw the signs along parts of California and Harbor Avenues), parking is prohibited today and tomorrow so SDOT urban-forestry crews can work..

STADIUM ZONE: The Mariners have a day game today, 12:40 pm vs. the Rangers.

Metro and the City need to get transit moving.  The Pioneer Square route does not work!

The tunnel helped cars, but not transit. Transit times have actually gotten worse since the tunnel completed and metro/city officials say there is nothing they can do. Maybe things will be better when the permanent bus routes are complete? It still boggles my mind that metro won’t even consider using the tunnel for routes to SLU until some.dostant future time.

Great. Another terrible commute on the “rapid” ride through Pioneer Square. I wish I could ride a bike or walk the 5 miles home, but instead I get to be squished on this bus with some dude’s backpack shoved all up in my face (hitting me each time the bus jerks to move 2 inches) for 1 hour and 15 minutes or so until we get there. This route is completely idiotic.

I’m about ready to give up on the bus commute and start driving until they stop the current route that goes down 1st. I emailed Lisa Herbold a week ago and didnt get a reply. I emailed the mayor and my email was forwarded to SDOT who didnt reply. Metro’s reply was just that they continue monitoring the route. It’s miserable and exhausting, physically and mentally. Killing my bad back being on these slow crowded buses for over an hour at a time every day.

I wish they’d be done with the forestry stuff on Harbor. I work at the Activspace and most of the tenants have to park on Harbor….. When all the street parking is prohibited, can’t get to work…..

Sorry, comment time is over.
