TRAFFIC/TRANSIT TODAY: Thursday updates & incidents

(Four WS-relevant views; more cams on the WSB Traffic page)
7:19 AM: No incidents reported on the major routes through or from West Seattle so far. If you’re headed toward Burien, note that Metro says Route 120 is routed off Ambaum between SW 116th and SW 120th. We’re checking to see what that’s about.

7:35 AM: Metro has just sent an alert that SB Route 120 is back to normal, so whatever that was, it’s resolved.

7:56 AM: SFD crews have just been dispatched to a reported crash on the westbound bridge at the 1st Avenue S. ramps. No other details.

8 AM: SFD units arriving there have not found the “patient” reported by a caller, so they’re clearing the scene.

The 57 that leaves the junction at 7:06 did not show up. No text, no bus, nothing. Once again, thanks, Metro. I feel like Charlie Brown kicking the football and you’re Lucy. Grrrrrr………

Brian – we should probably blame ourselves for expecting it to arrive. 3rd time in my last 5 attempts to catch that one that it didn’t show. Each time the same – no text, no email, no tweet and OneBusAway shows it passing thru as normal.

I think for some of West Seattle’s transit commuters route 37 both leaving and coming to West Seattle may be a smart alternate bus route. I also see that route empty westbound in the evening wonder if it may be more comfortable of trip for those having to stand on a crammed c line.

OneBusAway has had some major glitches the past few days. it has shown the 6:55 AM (California & Admiral) 57 as being 10 minutes late when it’s on time, it has shown afternoon buses as already departed when they haven’t even arrived. I haven’t received any Metro alerts (SMS texts that I’m signed up for) in the past week.

UPS truck stalled in left lane of 99 northbound at the top of the climb onto the viaduct (I think that’s King St).

The electronic reader board at 2nd and Columbia has been weird several times this week, showing a C 9 minutes away, then Now, then -4, etc., when no bus has arrived. Waited there almost half hour for a C between 10:40 – 11:10.

I’ve noticed similar situations at Cal/Faunt C line southbound. Ya know: 13 min.9min,3min,due,18min. Shoot, must have missed it! Better get my eyes checked.

For folks on the southern end of C-line route in West Seattle the 37 route is an option.

I thought all of the bus issues were getting looked into and resolved. Does anyone know the latest? Or is it the same as it ever was? Appears to be the later from the comments day to day. Thanks.

Sorry, comment time is over.
