UPDATE: Fire in High Point damages vehicle, shed, fence

8:45 AM: Firefighters are arriving at the scene near 31st and Morgan of what’s being described as a brush fire that spread to a vehicle and fence. More to come.

8:48 AM: From the scanner – the fire’s been declared under control.

8:52 AM: And now the fire’s tapped. Some units have been dismissed.

9:06 AM: Our crew talked with firefighters at the scene. They don’t yet know how it started, but it’s out. It happened at a residence along 31st south of Morgan. No injuries.

    It was on 32nd not 31st, 31st is on the north side of Morgan. Scary though. Just left town and a fire happens 2 blocks from my house.

      Thanks; address was dispatched as 6500 block 32nd SW but they continuously referred to it as 31st Avenue command, etc. High Point adds streets on occasion so I can’t always trust the maps for there (has been a problem last couple years with software for Garage Sale Day map!). – TR

    As someone who loves very nearby this incident it’s concerning! It’s especially concerning because we’ve heard a few fireworks being shot off the last few nights. Hopefully everyone behaves tomorrow night!
