It seems so long ago – Thursday night, before the rain returned, a beautiful night to wander West Seattle and enjoy the monthly WS Art Walk sights and sounds – with most of the art staying on display all month long, so this report is really about places you can still go and art you can still enjoy, even if you weren’t out and about during Art Walk itself. We visited a variety of venues – starting in the north at Alki Arts, where local painter Cathy Woo (above) showed all-new work. See the others, ahead:

In The Junction, Todd D. Martin was in the October spirit with his “Meet Me at the Mortuary” show at Hotwire Online Coffeehouse (WSB sponsor):

It wasn’t merely macabre … it was a study of mortuary science in The Junction (as explained here – West Home, you might recall, used to be where Hotwire is now!):

On the other end of The Junction, Bakery Nouveau hosted Ray Pfortner‘s photography students, with work on display from the Seattle Chinese Garden in West Seattle. Below, photographer Dan Driscoll talks to garden board member Sandy Marvinney:

For Art Walk venues, music is optional, but some bring in memorable acts – like The Castaways, the ukulele quartet that performed at Carmilia’s:
