Before you head home: Downtown (and beyond) traffic alert

From SDOT:

A march is currently scheduled for 4:30 p.m. today. The march will start at the Seattle Central Community College on Broadway and will proceed westward on Pine Street to Fourth Avenue, escorted by Seattle Police Officers, ending with a rally at Westlake Park. Up to 500 participants are expected. Drivers should anticipate traffic congestion along the route and in the area around Westlake Park. Drivers are advised to take alternate routes if possible.

A bunch of lazy dopers who don’t want to work for a living are protesting over the fact that people that DO work for a living can buy stuff they can’t. Or something, I wasn’t really paying attention.

Half of them don’t know what they’re protesting for..

Thank God we have the right to assemble and freedom of speech in this country. Such a pity it interferes with uptight folks and their commutes……

    All We Are Saying Is…
    …Let Us Get Home.

lazy dopers? seriously? Have you spoken with any of them? A client of mine, lives in a retirement community, teaches piano here in West Seattle for a living…has been there manning phones, giving out information – not exactly a lazy doper. Perceptions…from I’m betting are right-ish wing conservatives, can be so wrong. But my assumptions may be , too. If we don’t start speaking up, all of us, then we must agree with what’s happening to this country. I’m betting we don’t. Time more of us spoke up !. Too bad your commute was disturbed.

Is this seperate from the Wall Street/99% thing? Or is it all one big deal?

  • orca October 8, 2011 (7:58 am)

Yes..it really is too bad that our commute, child pick up, appointment, etc is…. “disturbed”.
I guess your “rights” trump the rest of us in your selfish selfness.

  • austin October 8, 2011 (7:58 am)

The commute wasn’t disturbed at all.

Re: The “lazy dopers” comment.. its too bad that people who realize they have no clue think they should publicly announce their opinion anyway. Weren’t paying attention? Then you don’t have anything to say.

I”m going to bet the people calling these protesters “dopers” know even less than they do about why they are protesting.

Sorry, comment time is over.
