West Seattle traffic alert: Crash takes out Delridge/Andover lights

Thanks to Sally for the alert – she says the lights are out at Delridge/Andover (map) because of a crash. (It’s on 911 as a motor-vehicle accident with no medic dispatch, so hopefully not too serious, but we’re en route to check.)

1 PM: All clear, lights back on. We don’t have official info on the crash but one unofficial report says it was a single car and the driver appeared OK.

The car looked pretty bad, and it appeared to only take out the traffic lights, all the businesses were still on. We didn’t loose our power.

They took the driver away on a stretcher … but she seemed alert. Didn’t see it happen but was there pretty quickly after it did and good job by all Emergency Reponse persons for getting it cleared up quickly.

This is why I hate waiting to cross as a pedestrian at this intersection. Which pole did they take out? The one on the NW corner?

no pole came down. I believe she hit one north of the intersection, but with such impact that the power lines south of the intersection jumped wildly… hopefully she is doing ok today. that intersection scares me too, mainly cause of the trucks headed to Nucor, who turn right on red, looking for cars, but not for pedestrians.

Young lady was driving N/B and blacked out after the light. She hit the pole and was taken to HMC. No further info.

Sorry, comment time is over.
