Another business expanding to West Seattle from the north end has just announced its opening date. We first told you three months ago that Breathe Hot Yoga was coming to Link (WSB sponsor; 38th and Alaska in The Triangle); this morning Breathe announced it’s opening this Thursday (May 12), with free classes at 4 pm, 5:15 pm and 6:30 pm that day (the first two taught by proprietor Amber Borgomainerio), and the regular class schedule starting this Friday.
Is it true that Bikram Yoga on California Ave is undergoing renovations? Anyone know if they are complete with these? I haven’t been there in a while.
They’re adding showers and getting new carpet, I think. Pretty sure they’re open during construction, their schedule is on their website. Love Bikram on Calif, and yet I am so to have another yoga option in WS! Welcome Breathe Yoga!
I just learned that the West Seattle Family YMCA also offers yoga classes. I haven’t tried any of the local classes, but as a new Silver Sneakers member I will be trying the easier ones at the “Y” besides the Yoga DVD exercises I have at home.
Since this is about Breathe Hot Yoga, I may drop in to the free classes on Thursday too, just to see what Hot Yoga is like. I’ll have to be careful on a first try.
Birkham Yoga has new floors, changing rooms, etc. Finished up a few weeks ago.
What kind of yoga is it being offered this Thursday? Is there a website?

Amber is an awesome, compassionate, and encouraging instructor! I took her classes when she taught at West Seattle hot yoga. So happy to have her back in West Seattle!
I’m with J…. the carpet floor at Bikram STINKS!!! I was so excited to see a hot yoga option in WS with an alternate flooring type. It’s so gross to lay on yucky carpet. I loved it other than that, but it was a big tun off for me. Hope they are changing the floor as well.

Bikram doesn’t have carpeted floor anymore – they’ve put in a high-tech rubber floor instead. Much better on the nose! They’re also in the process of putting in showers – should be done in the next few weeks. They’re open for business throughout.
