“Pity the fool who robs the cash drawer when on Padme Grace’s shift at Again & a Gain children’s and maternity consignment shop @ 4832 California Ave. SW. just south of the Alaska Junction,” began the note from Sarah at Again & a Gain. Read on for the story – which she hopes will be an alert to other businesses in the area as well:
Sarah says two “nicely dressed” men came into the store “at a moment when no one else was around.” Suspect #1 insisted on help while he browsed jeans and jackets, while Suspect #2 smashed a Hello Kitty lava lamp, creating enough distraction that Padme left the counter. As the shop owner tried to clean up the “glass and goo,” Suspect #2 “dashed behind the counter, opened the cash drawer and grabbed the money” – all this, Sarah explains, while clutching a polka-dotted maternity dress! Her story continues:
Padme (www.wellseattle.com), who is only about ½ the size of either of these guys – and there were two of them – is a skilled and experienced fitness trainer, life coach and martial-arts practitioner when she is not dealing with baby bathtubs, binkies & booties at the resale shop. She did not skip a beat in firmly taking control of the situation, getting the phone to the shop owner -who at that point was oblivious of the robbery – directing her to call the police while directing the tough hombre to give her back the money – which he did and then quickly exited the crime scene walking South on California immediately followed by (Suspect #1), who walked briskly North.
Anyone seen these guys? We don’t want them around here anymore.
Sarah says Suspect #1 was “wearing a black leather jacket, white cap, blue jeans & sunglasses,” while Suspect #2 was “in a white vest.” (We have a followup question out to see if there is any additional descriptive info.)
