Just got the latest on the work to rebuild a section of 16th SW just north of South Seattle Community College – read on for the update we just received from SDOT:
A contractor working for the Seattle Department of
Transportation will close 16th Avenue SW to northbound traffic at SW
Findlay Street (at the north end of South Seattle Community College)
starting at 7 a.m. tomorrow, July 28, until early September. For
motorists traveling north on 16th Avenue SW with destinations north of
SW Findlay, the detour will begin at SW Austin St/Dumar Way SW/SW
Orchard St and Delridge Way SW. There is no other through street north
of SW Austin to allow traffic to get north of SW Findlay.The contractor will reconstruct a section of pavement that is now in
very poor condition on 16th Avenue SW between SW Findlay Street and SW
Brandon Street. A portion of the street will be widened. Construction is
